with the cab and chassis dana 80 in the rear of my '01 i've had to run without hub caps ...

the napa lug nuts have rusted in one year ...

does anyone make SOLID stainless lug nuts, long ones ...

and does anyone know the taper on the stockers ...

btw gorilla lug nuts have a stainless cover, they are not solid (according to summit)

thanks

A Nice high nickel content stainless ( 3 series ) that won't rust would be way to soft for a lug nut, and would probably gaul it self to the stud the first time an impact is put to it,

and most likely would'nt take to well to even spining on with a 4 point lug wrench.

And no i have never seen or heard of any All Stainless lug nuts.

I'm with Rick, I'd be afraid stainless would gaul up and you wouldn't be able to get it back off. That's why the exposed lug nuts you see have a stainless cap on them instead of being solid.

My girlfriend makes sure my nuts are never rusty. I asked her if I should get them chromed, and she gave me a very strange look...

Call it what you will, but I don't think comments like you made above will be received very well on this forum. I'm not trying to call you out or call you down, just a word of advice. Welcome aboard. :)

Welcome to TDR,

I'll second the McGard "Tough Nuts". They're pricey, but they're nice. I had them on my KORE/Weld wheels, and they were 3" long and came with the lifetime guarantee.

IMO, McGard lug nuts are the ONLY way to go! I purchased a complete set plus a half dozen/dozen extra for my Ram in 1999. I haven't had to replace a single one! They look great, do NUT rust... the best money I've ever spent! :D

Ditto for their wheel locks! :D
