Pulling a trailer

where to buy b w turnover ball

Do any of you have experience hauling an overwidth boat(say 10'-11')? I'm considering buying one and would likely be trailering it to the lake. I'm wondering if the headaches and legalities involved in pulling something overwidth are minor or significant enough of a pain in the butt that I should reconsider. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, are there any boards about boats similar to TDR?

oversize boat

Check with Missouri Department of Transportation, they have all the lastest info. I pilot oversize loads and I see in the reg's if 12. 4 in wide and over you will need a pilot, You will need an oversize load sign front and rear and depending on the state, flags, lights and who knows what other. it ain't as bad as it sounds and a lot cheaper than getting caught without the proper equipment. Each state is different so check before leaving on a trip, almost all will not allow night traveling and some on weekends and major holidays. Stormy

I've towed a few overwide boats, not to bad as long as you get the correct permits, some strates will sell you an annual pass that will cover you for all year as long as you tow during the legal times.

There are sites for boats like the TDR, what kind of boat are you interested in, offshore, sail, motoryacht,... ... ?
