I am looking at buying a BD "performance" transmission with BD 1070215x converter,
I tow a 16000# 5er for fun & occaisionally use as a backup truck at work towing
10-15k. Anyone have any experience with this setup - or can recommend any options? any help will be appreciated!

well i have there valve body and there converter but my transmission guy did the rebuild with his clutches and i am verry happy it is a huge difference and better fuel mileage also

As with all the transmission builders, you will find some who swear by them, others who hate them.

I ran a BD built 47re in my 03' twin turbo for 30k miles prior to selling the truck without one hiccup. The truck was putting out about 575rwhp, and I used it all the time. The new owner has put another 15k miles on so far with no probs.

I may as well be the first to complain about bd! I have the "heavy" converter. Should hold 400+hp. I hate the thing and am looking for anybody that I can to hang it onto. It can't hold much more than 400hp, horrible low stall speed, and lockup works sometimes, and sometimes not. I don't know anything about the rest of their trans parts but if they don't work any better than my converter, I'd say stay away. But this is just my experience.

Im looking for someone who has the complete package, as somtimes matching various components from various vendors will lead to unhappiness.

package is: BD Performance transmission with BD Heavy Duty Trans Pan- PressureLoc - Aux Filter Kit - BD Performance Torque Converter - Double Clutch - Dodge 1994-2002 47RH/47RE up to 450hp

The only transmission that can boast about being a full roller bearing design. Stock and other transmission rebuilders use thrust washers. This results in soft metal floating around your transmission and then eventually settles to the bottom of the pan. This metal plugs up oil pressure ports, excessive thrust bearing wear and short life. BD eliminates clutch slippage, reduces operating temperatures and increases the transmission life by adding 25% more clutch surface than the stock design. Only the best quality clutch material is used and heavy-duty band apply struts are installed. New electronic solenoids are tested and valve body control functions are set and tested. The BD valve body is built with second gear lock up and can be activated with a BD TorqLoc or AutoLoc.

Thanks

All I can say is if it has BD on it DON"T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!

I went through 5 BD transmissions until I had a local Race transmission shop open it up. I have also rebuilt transmissions in the past. What we found was nothing more than a stock trans with a reworked valvebody and the accumulators shimmed closed.

Long story short, I pulled heavy with about 350 rwhp and there is no way a set up that BD sells will do this. Along with that they will warranty they're work but you pay for R&R at your local shop.

There are much cheaper and better setups out there. Just beware.

PM me for the whole story.
