Well, I finally bit the bullet and got an EZ coming for my ETH/DEE. Do I have to worry about slipping the clutch much? I have 3. 55's and currently do not tow anything, but will be pulling a 10000lb horse trailer this summer.
I am sure I will enjoy it, now all I have to do is disable the wastegate. #ad

275s + EZ consistently slips my clutch. EZ is temporarily unplugged until I upgrade the clutch.

This is not a happy report for me seeing as my EZ should be here tommorrow and the 275's go in on saturday. I am a little confused because I have emailed a guy (forgot his screen name) who told me his eth/dee had no problem with dd2's and ez. "my clutch held fine until i added drugs to my truck". I guess I will find out for myself.

this is what i said:
this is an e-mail i sent ted
my clutch held fine until i added drugs to my truck. if you are planning on
this combo i would reserve some $ for a clutch. i just ordered a southbend
clutch and it should do the trick. i've always heard that the stock clutch
will not hold up to anything more than an ez with heavy towing. you will be
very happy with dd2's and ez combo:)

LeeWhiskey,

No slippage here... absolutely love the EZ. Seems to make the pickup more driveable... more "normal" throttle response and super turbo response with the elbow installed. #ad

Mine will slip if I romp on it. I currently have the EZ jumper set to the middle position. Yet to do any injectors.

Mine hasn't slipped yet. I towed about 5. 5K to CA & about 9k back. Pulled real nice through the mountains. Moved some tractors over the weekend, probably had about 15k on it, no problem. But I am holding off on injectors.

275,S & EZ & no slippage & none likely to occur either cos i,m putting in a DTT tc & vb on thursday ,cant wait.

I don't have the EZ but have the original VA which I believe comes on harder down low. Had it on for almost 50k miles with no clutch problems. Added 275's to that about 5k ago and clutch is holding. But (you knew that was coming didn't you) I would not launch hard (read racing style) or it will soon be toast. My clutch has almost 90k on it too. So far, if I roll onto the power it feels fine. My wife slipped it once when she short shifted 3rd then got on it down low in 4th pulling our 24ft GN horse trailer.

Lee, you should be okay with just the EZ. The 6-speed clutches are stronger. We just added one to a 98 5-speed, and no slippage on a 50,000(?) mile clutch, chime in azcummins, let us know how it is performing. Now if you add injectors, just maybe, especially if you intend to hookup 10,000 lbs behind it. But this all depends on which injectors you choose. DD2's sure work well. Heck so does the HOT PE!
