How is the Cummins TAP program? Anyone went through it or know someone who has? What should I expect? I was enrolled for a while in a automotive tech program and even with a 4.0 GPA I realized that working on regular cars and trucks just wasn't for me. I love working on my own but dealing with all the other systems just didn't hold interest. I figure I would rather just stick to engines and diesel engines at that.

Just did a quick study on the TAP program, looks good to me. If you could apprentice at a Cummins branch and follow the stationary engine program it might turn into an excellent career choice...all the tools, resources and guidance a man could ever ask for in one place..

Not a Cummins tech, but am involved in both automotive and heavy truck repair. In comparing the two, I think you're making a good choice. It's an exciting time to be getting into it. Good luck, and really pay attention to diesel emission technology, and your computer and electrical skills.
