On the way to work this morning, I noticed an odd smell and the engine seemed to be running oddly... . quiet and had a wierd, barely noticeable vibration ... pulled over to check the oil and sure enough... flooded with diesel fuel... cp3 seal, hung injector or worse... Anybody have any dealers they recommend in this area... I have been to Kings Automall Dodge and lets just say I was not impressed. .

Is there any dealer you would trust? (sorry - couldn't resist :-laf )

Can't help you out on that question but you could PM or call someone in the TDR travel companion - Cin area.

Yea, I didn't even think of that. . Its sitting at Kings dodge now. . I talked briefly with the diesel tech when it was dropped off. . He drives a 2500 cummins and seemed fairly confident as to what the problem was so we shall see. I just don't understand why twice I have had problems with the fuel system in 37K without any box on it.

I bought mine from kings dodge. I can't say anything about their service however. I can tell you to stay away from Kidd dodge. They tried to rake my dad over the coals when his water in fuel light came on. They wanted to put on a new injection pump.

I have heard from more than a few people that Kings dodge has the best diesel tech(s) at any dodge dealer in cincy. They put an exhaust brake on my 03 and it worked flawlessly.

edit: I think us cincy guys are due for another get together sometime soon.

Hmm. . I haven't made it to a get together yet. . might have to make it to the next one... If I get my truck back in one piece that is. . always makes me nervous when I drop it off...

I haven't had any bad experiences with Kidd Dodge in Lawrenceburg. I have gone in there and asked the service manager some basic questions that he should have known, and he had no clue. I guess they don't really study the diesel stuff and leave it up to the "diesel tech".

Dealer

J-I just got back online and saw you hunting for a dealer. I too bought my truck from Kings dodge. Will not go back. However, if you don't mind the drive, Wyler Dodge in Ft. Thomas, KY has treated me quite well. Right now they are trying to get a nv5600 for my 02 2500. They are only 25 minutes down I-71 and over to I-471. Did someone say a get together?

Kerry Dodge in Milford. I know Matt the diesel tech. he'll hook you up. Injectors are on backorder though. if you need a tow let me know, I can bring the GN. 513 919 3411

Thanks for all of the support everyone. Its good to know that a guy can get a hand when he needs one. Appreciate that.

Fdavid- I had heard Kings had the best diesel tech around too. Of course that was coming from the Kings dodge salesman :-laf

I got the truck back today. Seems like the tech did do a good job. I had all six of the transfer tube 0-rings replaced as well as the # 5 injector. I also had the TSB# 18-037-04 reflash. Truck is running great. Feels stronger than it ever has. Little more low end, more top end (especially 2500 rpm +), around one to two mpg more (17mpg @ 75-80 hwy hand calc though the overhead read 19mpg), and call me crazy it even seems to shift better. Gonna have to look up this tsb #. I've driven about 500 miles with the fix so far and no problems. Truck sounds the same but definetly more power.

Yea, maybe we should plan a get together sometime. Will have to plan ahead, I'm rarely in town except every other weekend or so.
