Any difference between so and ho heads

Is there a difference in the h. o. head compared to the s. o. head, i have both and i am taking one to the machine shop, the s. o. head was just a high mileage take off and the h. o. head has very low miles but bent valves???

I don't know if there is any difference on early HPCR engines but my feeble memory tells me that there was a slight difference in compression ratio between my previous '01 HO six speed truck and the SO automatics in '01 and '02.

Do the heads have the same part number in the casting?

they have different numbers but look identical

high performance machine, same place that did all my block work with my freeze plugg blowing block#@$%! i know it takes me more times than normal to learn something:-laf

The SO heads didn't have the high-heat valves or pressed in seats, if I recall correctly.

this one appears to have pressed in seats, i will go out to the shop and pull a valve out
