After a new banks power pack intercooler, 14 cm wstegated ext, etc. Along with a New < reman > Turbo, fresh adjusted valves. I had the local Dyno Cummings do a dyno test. Avgering 137 hp at 57 MPH does this sound a little weak for the upgrades I have made ? the tech figured a rear wheel of approx 110-120 befor the test was started. Also said the pyro has to be mounted post turbo to get a good reading. Personally I think its going to remain where it is. I just think the hp reading should be more. Should I look at rebuilding the pump ? checking injectors as well ? Thanks again, Mike

Mike all your up grades are fine but it needs more fuel to make more power. Go to TST web page for instructions on adjusting the injection pump.

Gene, Thanks. The rig is getting a new <reman> getrag installed today. Tomorrow its getting the pump rebuilt and all new injectors installed. I figure to run approx 3000 miles a week 3 out of 4 weeks so it will be pretty well used. Might as well start back up in decent shape. Once the pump & injectors are in and I get this loaded @ 36000 lbs. I can adjust for the power. And lower Pyro temps. I'd rather get all this done now rather than out on the road. Got to keep my dispatcher happy. Thanks again, Mike

Hey Mike!

I agree with GeneH, it sounds like you need more fuel! I'll drag a few threads to the top that helped me with my fuel adjustments.

Titles: "89-93 pump adjustment", "Super hot pre 93" & "Full Load Fuel Adj. - 'Old School' you out there". There's a lot of great info out there! You can scroll thru all the past threads by changing the box from "show post from the last 20 days" to "show all post" & hit the "GO" Button.

It's been a bit quiet out there lately in the 1st gen forum, if you can get "Old School" & "Powerwagon" wound up, they can provide a wealth of knowledge along w/ our other TRD brothers! Keeno

Yes I found the thread. Very usefull info !! The guys do know their stuff. I just found out my pump is trash. It was just a quick call from the shop. The housing is toast and some kind of shaft ? is toast as well. Kinda explains why it was not letting me adjust for more power. In the past 3 weeks between all the fixing, upgrades, and new transmission I'm up there in the $$$$ now. Also getting the upgraded injectors and E- Brake installed. Should have my truck back tomorrow night :<) Thanks for all the info guys ! Regards, Mike

Mike, also remember that the Cummins dyno is a load type dyno, not like the Dynojet dyno many people around here use. You would likely see a difference in the numbers, just because it's not an inertia dyno.

Might want to find a Dynojet locally if you can to get numbers to compare.
