Need to go from Texarkana to Houston next week.

Is US 59 a decent road, or should I just plan on I 45.

Time isn't a big factor... thanks

US59 is 4 lane just about all the way. It's a straight shot to Houston. That's the way we go.

Hwy 59 is nice now loops around Nacogdoches,Lufkin,and Cleveland.

Unlike Arizona, I have yet to find even the most remote two lane hiway bad in Texas.

Yep, less traffic and more direct route than I-30 from Texarkana to Dallas and I-45 from Dallas to Houston. I avoid I-45 between Dallas and Houston and I-35 between Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio.
