I have a 6635 sl series II DMX.

The problem is that the glow plug indicator light is always on. I checked to see if it was powering up the heater but it is not. I went to the local dealer and they let me look at the factory service manual and it has no troubleshooting for this circuit other than to replace the glow module which is a fancy looking relay and costs $220 .

The only thing I haven't checked yet is if the module will actually power up the heater.

Which factors influence whether the glow module operates?

If it is based on ambient air temp or coolant temp, one of those sensors or their associated wiring could be bad.

After reading the manuals it is an internally controlled module that senses ambient temps and kicks them on automatically at 32*f and it can be manually operated by turning the key to the acc position and holding it if wanting to use them when warmer. I have studied the wiring diagram and the only thing that controls the light is the module but the service manual gives no diagram or procedure to test the module or the circuit. The module looks like a relay but is sealed like it is a solid state component and is a bit longer.
