Just looking for a little input on clutch selection, what i plan to do this year is add a Smarty, maybe a set of injectors, nothing to hot,:D and a set of 35" tires, my ? is what clutch, been lookin at southbend DD, but the Valair, looks good for the price, any input would be appreciated

When my clutch let go I looked at everything. I knew that I would want more HP(bragging rights/ blowing the doors off some rice burner) and looked at something that could hold what I had and what I thought I wanted down the road. I found a SBC that would do want I have now and go for alot more.

The southbend DD is a little expensive for your mods. To be completly honest, a SBC FE is enough. Until you start getting over 450/500hp, you do not need to get into the DD series of clutches.

I have had sbc con ofe for 50k miles. It is not bad, just a little grabbier than stock, but it holds.

I am at near 420HP at the wheels , even had a smarty and Comp, and 150hp and just comp.

Let me know if you are looking for some 80hp injectors and a slightly bigger turbo

I'd go with the ofe but don't take my word for it. Give Peter a call & get the scoop straight from the horses mouth. ;)

Thanks you guys, just thinkin bout the dd because i do plan to some day get to 450-500 hp,when my wife isn't lookin:-laf nobody tried any Valairs? Also maybe do a little pullin at the local fairs, just to laugh at my powerjoke buddies. (all in good fun)

OK, your story changed since the first post. If you want to sled pull at all you need a DD clutch. I know a OFE won't hold a 3500RPM launch more than a few times. YOu can do 500HP on a CON-FE if you don't beat it until it's locked.

Cheers
