my 96 runs great but lately i noticed that upon cold start i occasionaly get alot of blueish white smoke and the truck runs alittle rough for maybe 5 seconds and then clears up. what causes this? the truck is stock except for intake and exhaust.
All depending on how cold it is, it is a normal thing. If it is cold, the engine heating grid will cycle (wait to start light) volt meter will drop, wait till it goes out to start. As long as it runs good after it warms up and no blue smoke it is most likely just fine. I can fog things pretty good by bringing the RPM up when cold, it clears within a mile or two. I usually just hold the revs down until I get warmed up, or give it some time to warm up before taking off.
