Is there a thread about it anywhere? Wondering what kind of front bumper that is, very sexy truck!

I think its Gregory Whale's truck. it has a warn enforcer bumper on it.

There was awrite up on it-from about nov 92 to june 93 in fourwheeler mag.

Greg was a writer for 4wheeler &is a writer four TDR now.

it sure looks like that truck. - I have 6 of the 7 issue write up.

mabe some one else knows for sure.

I have the magazines with the articles in it too. I believe they called it the "great white". And yes... Warn enforcer bumper. I have one in my backyard awaiting a cool 1st gen project I might one day encounter.

Y'all aroused my curiosity so I researched my "TDR library" (which goes back to Issue 1). It does look like Greg Whale's truck.

There is a photo of Greg's truck in Issue 15, page 52 and Issue 19, page 42. Also a photo of Greg standing beside his truck in Issue 13, page 46 (Summer '96) which I think was his first article in the TDR Magazine. IIRC, he was the first outside writer Robert asked to write for the magazine. He's been a TDR writer for a long time and I always look forward to reading his articles. :D

The article's in Fourwheeler mag were titled "Operation Tugboat" about the buildup of the tugboat&the tugee (trailer)

Bill or anyone do you have issue #34 ? It was the cover truck, look closley it has that-Federal Signal Corp. lightbar on the roof that Greg put on. Owner of truck should be on inside front cover. I too would like to know--thanks--

Yes, that's Greg's truck on the cover of Issue 34; however, there is no notation anywhere in the magazine about the photo on the front cover. Greg wrote an article about "Tugboat" on pages 34-36 in the magazine. Also there is a photo of the back of his truck on page 34. In the TDR article he references his articles in "Four Wheeler" magazine, December '92 and January '93. I haven't read the TDR article in a long time (~10 years?) and enjoyed reading it again. It brought back memories of my first gen, a '92 D350 Club Cab that towed our Hitchhiker II fifth wheel all over the lower 48.

Project Tug Boat was what first got me interested in the Dodge Cummins. I still remember reading it in high school during umm... Four Wheeler magazine class... I've got a PDF with all of the articles if anyone wants one.
