Any interest in a "My Posts" button?

Hey Steve ... happy birthday and all and for a present you slaved to roll out this new graphics plan but dang we need more!!! :-laf



Naw but seriously How hard would it be to have a link under your logged in screen name labled "My Posts" and when clicked upon it does a search for all posts by member ID number? Is that a wicked script or not really? It would search whatever your default forums are and would keep you up to date on the multiple threads you are active in at a single click.

Isn't that what the user control panel does? Every thread I'm active in appears in the user CP when I log in so I can respond to all the new stuff...

This would be a single click deal. Just like doing a search in the search feature for your screenname and selecting all open forums. It will shoot back every thread you have been dealing with.

Can we refine that so it comes up in a THREAD form instaed of posts?

Hmmm, I'll have to check on that. That may take a good bit more effort. I was able to do this by simply using a search routine that was already there and just creating another link to it. If you click on anyone's name there is a link there to view posts by that user - I'm using that same function. I don't think there is a built in function to view by threads. I'll take a look when I get a chance - I'm still recovering from all the work in the last couple weeks on the graphics redesign.

Sorry, but there's no easy way to make it shown in a thread view. It would take me a few hours to implement that and there's too much other stuff on my plate to devote that much time to it right now. To view the thread you just need to click the title at the top of the post.

Just go to the search page and enter your name in the "user name" box.

That's what I normaly do however It would just be wicked sweet to have that setup in the My posts button link thingy. But the My posts thingy has allready made life super easy!! Thanks Steve again for that!

Just click on the persons username when someone makes a post. One of the boxes says "Find more posts by... ..... " No need to go to the search page, unless you are searching for something specific.

Right but do it that way and then do it in the search page by user name. You will see the difference. When done in the search page you will see results as THREADS by last post date.



When done the other way it displays just the posts that have been made individualy and you can't see if there has been a responce scince you have last logged on.
