I am bringing home my new to me 98 12 valve truck tomorrow. It has 190k miles and to my knowledge the KDP has never been tabbed/fixed.

Anyone know of an expert in Washington that does this? I am not super mechanical but have basic tools and a place to work on it. I have read all the instructions and such, I am just a little gun shy.

Also, anyone know someone in Eastern Washington that can help check or set the timing at 15. 5*? I am willing to pay fair $$ or beer or a combo of both.

Thanks

Where in eastern WA. Its not hard to do, just remember the fan has left hand threads, make a cardboard pattern of the cover to put the cover bolts in, different lengths. Have pleanty of time, for your first time. Its a good time to put a new belt on.

I was a little apprehensive as you are, fallowed the instructions, took my time and done as suggested above. Took me about 4 hrs. The hardest part was the crank seal replacement. Do as the instructions say and you'll be fine. Its a senses of accomplishment when done.

Contact the Northwest Bombers up there, they are a pretty active group and maybe someone will assist you.
