Are there any KDP jig keepers out there? If so, I will pay to get it to me and back if need be. I need to pull the timing cover and do the front main seal. The fan wrench set would be a great help if it is out there.
I've actually already used the jig to take care of my KDP. The tool I'm after is the fan wrench set to get the fan off. The tool in the jig kit worked great!
The last post I saw on the Rocky Mountain Jig Keeper was a few years back and I was just curious if there are any jig kits or fan wrench sets still out there.
Instead of just pulling the fan, you can pull the fan along with the bracket that holds it on. There are 4 10mm bolts that need to come off and that is it. 3 of them are easy and for the 4th, I had to grind down a box end wrench just a little but it was still not bad.
36mm wrench and a hammer did the trick for mine, and works well on the 32mm bmw fan clutches i work on daily, if the belt slips too bad you can usually put some pressure on the belt and get it to grip
harold, member hbowers [ -- email address removed -- ] manufactures jig kits and tab kits for a reasonable price. they include the fan wrenches he makes.
Yep I`m still out here. . but the jig is currently in-use, and I have another guy on the list. I can put you on the list, if you want to duplicate any of the parts in the kit.
Yes. I tabbed my kdp using the tst kit and the instructions called for removing the fan that way. It wasn't bad at all and probably took 5 minutes to get it undone including grinding the wrench. You just need to be careful of damaging the radiator with the fan because it is kind of tight getting it out of there. Good luck.
