The dowel pin in my 93 CTD was in 3mm from the edge of the hole. I tapped it in another 4mm, raised 3 burrs with a gouge punch to hold the pin in place, cleaned it out with brakekleen(sp?), blew it out with air, and used blue loctite on it. Then I torqued down 5 or 6 bolts that had loosened up a little. I feel much better about it, but I have to confess that I don't know if Cummins runs the pins in all the way when they build them.
I believe that if you do a search, you'll find that a few 1st gens
have had KDP tragedies.
Good Luck,
Mel
