Does anyone have a better support phone number than this or a way to get to someone in Detroit/USA that can really help with some swift resolution on warranty issues?

I'm looking for someone who may have found success talking to someone who has a little higher sense of urgency and a little bit less run around than what this number seems to give. I'm a mechanical engineer that worked 15 years as a diesel tech on 5 continents in my prior life and the last thing I need to hear is that my local service department is the expert when they don't know the difference between a clean diesel exhaust and one that has a broken DPF filter - regardless if I agree or disagree with the EPA. Yes - Sam Memmolo is right, the witch is in Washington, but Chrysler said these trucks were ready for market too.

I absolutely feel for you, but you're kidding, right? I have had the unfortunate experience to have dealt with each of the former Big-Three, and customer service comes in two flavors, "Despicable", and "Abysmal". I've gotten nothing but lip service from any of them. I should add that my experiences with Toyota, and VW were no better. Either find a dealer who'll go to bat for you, or keep meticulous records, and arm yourself for a Lemon Law filing. Been there, done that.

Lemon law in IL finishes at 12,000 miles, not sure if anyone has set a precedence to get satisfaction beyond that.

I'm keeping records, doing all the right stuff, no aftermarket anything. I know many want more power but I'm more than happy with everything but the warranty support for emissions. Just ready to go as high as needed to find an antidote to some of this ignorance and apathy.

Freebore,

I've never had a warranty issue and have no personal knowledge of the system but I've heard many horror stories and a couple amazing success stories by owners with problem vehicles.

I met a hotshot hauler with a new '07. 5 Ram 3500 Cab and Chassis a few months ago who was having the problems reported here with other trucks.

His dealer in East Texas apparently fought his battle and he scored a surprising success. He called me a few weeks ago and reported that a few weeks earlier a Dodge rep called and asked him, "how is your new truck?" He replied, "what new truck?" A few weeks later his dealer called and asked him to come in and pick up a replacement '08. He had 80,000 troublesome miles on his '07. 5 and handed it over and Dodge immediately picked it up and shipped it somewhere, apparently for disassembly and analysis. He PAID $0000. 00 for the new one! That's right, he was required to pay nothing. His dealer had prepped him to pay some out of pocket money for the miles on his '07. 5 and he expected to. His dealer shook his head in wonder telling him he had never seen that happen before. I guess we can assume that Dodge wanted his truck back for their own benefit, possibly to examine a truck with a working history to determine what went wrong.

I have only his word on this and don't know him well but he had no reason to lie to me and he doesn't seem like a deceitful guy with an ego issue. He's just an ordinary working guy trying to survive and support a family after losing a job in a factory he'd held for 20 or more years.

I believe his story because of the way he told it and because of some of the details he provided.

Freebore, what truck do you own and what problems are you experiencing with it?

These troublesome 6. 7 just seem to keep coimng out of the woodwork... . Mine has been nothing but a total disappointment. I am real close to sealing the deal on my lemon law case ... the dealer only has 2 diesels on the lot one is a 51,000. 00 mega and the other is a big horn... . I am negotiating for the mega but will accept the big horn with some perks such as extended warranty and add leather ..... the dealer is telling me to put a few calls in and squeak a little and the atty. 's for Chrysler will sweeten the deal to get this thing resolved. either way at this point I am going to have to take a 7700. 00 mileage hit. Thanks for the info Harvey about your acquaintance and his delightful surprise of no difference due, I' ll hope that the same good luck comes my way.

Around 15,000 miles mine stored the famous P2262 code & the local dealer did a flash update to the AX level. They said it needed to regen and the need to drive on the highway (just drove 600 miles the day before at 65 mph, so not clear what they are trying to say - I rarely drive stop & go).

Fast forward to a month later while on vacation driving 65-70 all hell broke loose when the overhead provided the regeneration required now warnings at about 19000 miles. In short, the first dealer I could find confirmed excessive soot, P2262, P200C, P1451, and P242F but had their Star network down, however they suggested to drive it and see how it behaved. I was able to get to a second dealer with intermittent messages on the overhead about regeneration. They confirmed the same, said my truck needed a complete cleanout along with a new particulate filter and possibly more. However with no parts and miles to go, they were able to add one software update to the overhead and suggested I get to my home dealer as my DPF was not entirely plugged and it was doing some regen.

Got home with no visible CELs, but the local dealer service folks didn't follow up with what happened on my trip even though I gave them all the background info. They are still on the bandwagon that a "regen is needed". A P1451 code was stored at that time although no CEL lights were on.

They would not do the SB 11-002-07 which comes right out of the TSB 18-013-08 issued in March. Dealers in SD are willing to do it right, but should someone have to drive 700 miles just to get service?

I had very good luck with a lower level. I got the number of the Chrysler Area Manager and he has been very helpful, has shown concern for my problems and has been very good to resolve my issues. I got the number from a dealer.

Update - found a dealer to work with who even called the out of state dealer who worked on my truck. The local dealer I found didn't know much about the magnitude of work to clean out the soot properly but by doing some basic communicating they are learning a bunch. The SD dealer has been through quite a few and cautions that if you don't completely clean all the parts up front (Turbo/EGR/Pipes), any new DPF/Nox/Sensors downstream will be damaged. They've had pretty good luck once they cleaned everything up before putting in new stuff.

I was at the dealer when they ordered the new parts and it won't let you order just a DPF - it has to have the converter as well. They experienced damaged sensors too as you can't get the sensors out without damaging them - threads are seized.

Waiting on parts now.

IF you do not have any luck go to this site www,carsondodge.com this is a very good site. Get lodged on then you can find out about your trouble. GOOD LUCK--BEN
