Bakersfield Area Meet

Oregon TDR Ski day

Looking for a ride down that way...

Happy to help pay for food, fuel, etc.

I need to go to LA to get my truck... Or maybe pick it up in Nevada...

Slight possibility

Mark, I am getting a bit of a wild hair and am thinking of running down there, or else to the Cochran Dodge event in Alberta since I am open that weekend. The main thing is, though, I can only take 1 day off work and it is a long haul to S. Nevada to make the trip in one day. If there is snow to deal with, which is possible in a lot of Oregon and northern Nevada, I won't go for sure.

If it looks like fair sailing, I'm game, and it would be a lot of fun to have you come along! Let's keep in touch.

It's 850 miles from here to there. about 900 from Pasco.

COULD run into bad roads, too.

Which way would you go? I've never been in any part of Nevada.

Mark, we would probably go via SE Oregon thru Jordan Valley on 95 to Winnemucca, then down 305 to Austin and 95 to Tonopah and on down that way. Alternate route is via Twin Falls which is about as fast but probably further. Both times when I went to LV this year I went via Twin Falls. Both ways are interesting drives and I think you'd enjoy it.

Ok, what would be the "departure" times?

I can be anywhere I need to be to hitch up with you. I'm also prompt :)

Bright & early

I would probably be headed out of Pasco around 5am on Friday, if you could get down to Pendleton that would save a good 30-45 minutes if I didn't have to go via M-Freewater.

When a buddy and I went down to Loma Linda via Las Vegas we left at 3am  But we got to LLU by 9:30pm and had time to visit and bs with friends for awhile. It seems it was around 6 when we stopped in LV to fuel up so we covered the distance in 13-14 hours. We made pretty good time. We went via Boise and Twin Falls. That was a mad weekend dash to go pick up a car sight unseen in LA Sat night and then drove home Sunday and Monday. It was a fun trip!

Here is a pix taken about 80 miles south of Ely
