Any one ever changed out an inboard 4.3...

... . I know it ain't a Diesel and it's a G. M. product. But I was asked to change one and was wondering if I need any special tools or anything special to look out for. Any help much appreciated... Doug

I'm not 100% sure. I think it's a Merc. I'll find out for sure this weekend. I'm a truck mechanic by trade so I've swapped my share of truck and car engines. Just wondering what differences I might encounter. Thanks... Doug

If merc,

Undo positive on starter and negative on bell hsg

undo throttle cable, shift cable and shift cable to drive located on the left exhaust manifold if youre in front.

Undo front motor mounts, watch out to not turn the lower nut as you have to re align and for this you need an axle (tool from merc)

Undo 2 vertical gold colered bolts in bell hsg

Undo Electric plug

Undo fuel supply

And out she goes
