I was looking for tires and found 6 Alcola rims with the General tires for a decent price. I'm needing new tires and for what the local tire shops want for Michelin tires, there isn't much of a price difference. The wheels/tires are located in the Fairbanks area which happens to be a long crappy drive since its winter. Not really looking for rims, but the combo sparks some interest.

Let me know what you think,thanks-Casey

My C&C still have the original General Tires on, but I only have 36K on them and will have to be replaced soon. I was not happy when I ordered the truck and not have the option for Michilen tires. I lost a tire when my inner dual went flat while towing and at 10* ambient and drove it (guess at 250, with a long story, miles) with it flat and destroyed it. If you can get Alcoa rims with the General tire's on them I just might be interested, but it would have to be a good deal, but Michilen are the only tire I will purchase when mine are worn out.

General Ameritracs are the OEM tires on duallies. I agree with above. They're a poor substitute for a Michelin.

I got a little over 60k miles out of them on my '06 and a little under 60k on my current C&C. Few owners get the tire mileage I do so don't expect many miles out of a set of used take offs.

Thanks fellas,I'm not sure I'll buy the wheels/tires. At another site, every one was upset that Dodge put the General Ameritracs on the Ram's. I think I'll stick with the Michelin's,don't really want to deal with polishing the wheels every month due to the crap the state puts on the roads to melt the snow/ice.

The Generals that came on my truck have been adequate rim protectors so far. When replacement time comes, however, Michelins will be replacing them.
