I have a 2007 5. 9 and im looking to save some money by running a 50/50 mix of grease and diesel

I filter the grease through a 1 micron sock filter and this wroks fine for my Mercedes and my kaiser but im not so sure about that common rail.

Any feed back or FACTS would be greatOo.

Good luck...

Seriously, Keep the home-brew for the tractors and older low pressure fuel systems. . the CR may attack your wallet on chicken grease. .

AMEN to that!!! There is too much rail pressure to use that concoction. The high rail pressure turns the stuff into solids.

crap! k thx guys

Iv heard from other ppl that it will clog my filters up but as long as i keep them swaped that i would be ok... ... ... ... .

If you want to use "grease", learn to make bio diesel from it and mix it with diesel fuel. Personally, it may be OK for the old Mercedes, but I wouldn't think of using it in a CR engine. The downside is just too expensive.

They don't recommend using any home made bio

in a cr. People have tried it and. Cost them a

lot of money for repairs.

I've been mixing home brew for my '06 for almost 3 years straight and not one single problem that wasn't my error. (knock on wood) I over estimated once and had too high of a percentage whiched cause gelling on a cold Alaska morning. The commonrail handled up to 60% used veggie without any hiccups. If you want more info let me know.
