Any problems using Amsoil ATF ?

Has anyone had any problems using Amsoil ATF fluid in the 48RE automatic transmissons? I'm coming up on 60,000 and I thinking of switching to Amsoil.

I'v used their Universal ATF in both my '95 and '03 with the 48re. The '03 seems to

shift slightly more smoothly, while the '95 seemed about the same. When I did the

'03, I drained almost 12 qts. by loosening the 10 valve body mounting bolts and

letting it drain for half an hour. Don't forget to torque to 100 inch-pounds. The

original gasket is re-useable.

Why not do a complete flush and fill? Otherwise you aren't going to be getting the full benefit of the Amsoil.

I had InARush do mine he switched out all the fluids to Amsoil in my 03 the 96 is just transmission and power steering. Everything goes along fine. I did it to extend my oil changes and sucj to the max that chrysler recomended (15k) and fell confidet that I still have a good oil in there.

I will be having mine done next week and will have them put on the May-Hytec trans pan I bought. It's got about 33000 on it. I am just going to let the dealer do it so they can do a flush. I will just have to pay for the labor. I have the Amsoil ATF.

You should have no problems using the Amsoil ATF, as it does meet the +4 requirement.

I used it in my 94' for 8 years.

Do you have the 48RE? My main concern is DC not covering my transmission because I'm not using Mopar+4.

You should have no problems at all using the Amsoil ATF. It does meet the DC spec. MOPAR +4
