I've been trying to find a descent looking tire for the new Dually I ordered.

Has anyone found anything to fit the 17" rims yet narrow enough to work in the DRW application that doesn't look like it should be mounted on a Honda Element... like the ones they come with? I want something at least 34" diameter.

What other rims will work other than the Alcoa's?

Goodyear, (same crap you already have), General tire--heh, and Cooper. That's it. I called a Tire Rack here in town, they quoted me, (are you sitting down?), $293 bucks a tire for Coopers. I laughed so hard my throat hurt. Told the sales manager he needed a shrink. Generals are junk, have no experience with Cooper. Good Luck

Are the Coopers or Generals any bigger? Can you remember the sizes that will fit without the tires touching?

Why 17" tires... to accomodate bigger disc brakes?

I'm on the 3rd set of goodyears on my 2wd dually. The mileage has been real good on them, 84K on the 1st set, and 80K on the second set. None have blown or went flat, just the cracking on the sidewalls. They have been pretty good on the warranty on them, I think 112. 00 ea. has been the most I have paid for new ones. I just keep hoping they will stop cracking, and I will be satisfied. Both sets would have given me over 100K. Michelin keeps telling me they are coming out with that size, but aren't out yet. Good luck!

I put a set of coopers on the rear of my truck at about 650 for the set of 4 mounted and balanced..... I've had the 2 front replaced under warranty... . I'm currently looking for steel wheels in 19. 5" to replace them with..... we get over 100K miles on our 19. 5" on our F550... . Under 200 for new Michleins in the front and like 130 each for the UPS recap in the rear..... I'm guessing I'll switch before the end of the year... . and will do it on the 05 as soon as the factory tires wear out... .
