Any thoughts on a 2003 PT Cruiser?

We are considering replacing the wife's 98 Saturn with a new car, and are considering a PT Cruiser. 1. 9% financing for 60 months, and I think the car would meet our needs for comfortable basic transportation while still having something special. Looking for one with the "most wanted" options, but nothing all that decked out (no leather, etc).

My wife and I bought a 2003 PT GT. I had never test drove a Cruiser before and neither had my wife. She just likes smaller cars. We took it on vacation last year and I don't have any complaints. I am not a large person, so the car fits me well. It was comfortable and held all the "stuff" we took with us.



I ordered the car they way I wanted it and of course I couldn't leave off the turbocharger



I have no regrets in over a year of ownership.

We're in the same boat as you (except replacing the '92 Grand Voyager). Seems like a neat little car for the money. We were getting set to order a 2004 Touring Edition when my dealer just did a deal with a local guy who ordered a new '04. He's trading in an '03 turbo with 4500 miles on it. The price might just be too good to pass up on that one.

These have been very reliable with none of the head gasket problems the Neon had. I have a customer with over 100,000 miles with nothing but routine maintenance.

We got my wife a new car last fall. I tried really hard to talk her into either a Cruiser or a Viper, but she wouldn't go for either one. She got a 2003 Sebring instead. Nice little car for her, but I don't fit in it very well.

My wife's on her second one

My wife bought a '01, and recently sold it and bought a '03. Both cars had an excellent fit and finish, and both are smooth and comfortable. Both cars are 5 speeds, and get decent mileage. She had a Neon previously, and complained about the blindspots caused by the roof pillars.

Drove a Turbo AutoStick yesterday. Signed the papers today. There is a BIG difference between the Turbo and the base engine with the auto. With my wife riding shotgun AND the salesman in the back seat (and the A/C on), I still got rubber on the 1-2 shift. If you can swing it, go turbo, baby. Since Tuesday, the '03s now have a $2500. rebate.

We bought a Honda Accord EX instead. $2500 rebate on the crusier is pretty good. Thanks for the info.

Coming back from Florida this past Jan. , we drove a rental back. Wound up being a Cruiser. Was the first time I had been in one. I'm 6'6" and had plenty of leg room. Rode nice and got great mileage. My mom wants one pretty bad. After driving one, she likes them even better.

Anybody consider the crossfire? Nice looking car. i've heard it's fast, and handles real good. Anybody seen one?

Local dealer has Crossfires, sweet looking , but rather limited usefulness, small in my opinion.
