Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Any thoughts

did a timing cover gasket (between case & block) on a 97, got back together started & ran for 45/60 min. took on a road test, towed back on the hook. would'nt start, checked timing, it slipped, adjusted timing to 15. 5 degrees. starts,idles but smokes whitish/blue like crazy, misses, smoke seems to clear up some as engine temp rises. checked for air leaks, any ideas ?

Still a timing issue what torque did you put the fuel pump gear at?

Sounds like it's slipped again, have you checked the timing again? Did you be sure and use lots of brake cleaner to blast the pump shaft snout super clean? Torque the nut to 144ft/lbs with a new washer?
