Has anyone heard of a way to replace wires on the VP-44 so they look original? DC manual doesn't have anything about it.

Thanks, Wiredawg

When I brought my truck to cummins to have the VP replaced I'm pretty sure (99%) they put new wires on for the 2 short black ones, one you splice into. So I think you could order them from Cummins. As for the other wire you have to tap into, they said for that one they would have had to do the whole harness that it's connected to and it'd be spendy. However, I guess if you had the time you could cut the wire downline a ways, take out a foot or so chunk, splice in a different wire and then take that chunk, cut as much off of the vp44 end, hook it up to the plug and splice it into the wire. Follow me? Is it possible to get the end out of the plug that goes into the vp44 so you can reattatch it there? I can't remember, it's been awhile since I hooked up my box. And is it worth it? It'd make it harder for the tech to see it, but if he peeled off the wire cover once he got a foot into it he'd find the spice you made. Who knows. I'm sure you can get the whole new harness, but I'm not sure how much it'd cost and how long it'd take.

Thanks. I'm not having any problems right now, but thought it would be a good idea to have some way to replace wiring on the VP-44 if I ran into any warranty problems. My fueling wire on it is pretty buggared up from BOMBing.
