I've found information about testing the resistance values on the IAT sensor to determine if it is functioning correctly, but I haven't found any info on testing the MAP sensor. Does it operate the same way as the IAT sensor (just measuring pressure instead)? If so, how do you test it?

Thanks,

MAP sensor gives voltage change input to ECM. If you knew the voltage baseline value and range, would beable to determine if it was functioning correctly. I do not have that information.

Hi Gary,

First of all, THANKS for the link.

I can't count how many searches I tried on TDR and several other Dodge/Cummins websites without getting the info I was looking for. Unfortunately, my mind was stuck along the lines "+map +sensor +test +values". Never thought to use the term "readings" in my search criteria. Tada! :)

I wholeheartedly agree with you about using the search function before starting a new post. Unfortunately, garbage in = garbage out. Sometimes searches won't return what you're looking for if you can't think of the right keyword.

Oh well, what can I say -- I'm trying to help my cousin with his truck. MY engine doesn't have no stupid MAP sensor! :-laf

Thanks,
