Is anybody still runing a stock 06 48re with smarty. If so how many miles since smarty installed and on what setting, any isssues? I know you can create all the trouble you want running above sw3 just courious if any body is getting any transmission longevity with moderate smarty power. Also is anybody towing above 21,000 lbs gvw with stock 48 and smarty?

Just a fuel milage side note that I am consistantly amazed that with the smarty on 3 I can easily get over 540 miles to the tank city/highway combined hand calculated and thats playing on the highway every chance I get. Without the smarty I have to be pretty light footed to get 450 mpt. Towing at 23,000lbs gvw I could get 11. 5 mpg stock. The long weekend in May will be my 1st 5er trip with Smarty, it will be interesting.

I run Smarty on SW2 and TST on 2/2. With TST on any setting but 0/0 engine rattles too much with any of the Smarty's timing SW.

The TC will slip on hard launches if I catch the turbo just right, but I don't do hard launches very often.

Well mines not an '06, but I have about 2500-3000 miles on stock transmission and Smarty on #3, #5, #7, and probably 1500 of those on #9-no problems other than some convertor slippage but when it does grab hooey! And I'm not exactly the easiest on my vehicles; I tend to find their limits pretty quick. If your smart about it, you can run on higher levels; thats my experience anyway...

Not at all. I think many are too shy to run a stock transmission on anything higher than what's recommended.

I've been running Smarty on the Moderate SW #7 and love it. It feels way better on the transmission than #3 did. No slipping at all and all the smoke I want ;-) Once in a while I'll turn on the TST to 2/1 T-12 TT03. Now that will cause problems with the transmission but, if i use it carefully I have tons of top end power. As good as the Smarty SW is though, I may just remove the TST period.

I haven't been looking for fuel mileage but from what I understand, level #1 is going to be your best setting for that.

Don't be shy to use what Smarty has... . just be Smart(Y) about it <<< :-laf

I've had the smarty for 7k on my truck, no higher than level 3, dont abuse it, minimal towing... . it's awesome, no issues... . really dying to try higher levels, but dont want to hurt my trans and will wait until i can get the dtt parts and use the power w/o breaking things... .

I do drive mostly city miles, so it's giving the trans a good workout... great power, drivability and mileage... .

I really do believe that if left at level 3 or below and driven reasonably, that the trans will last a long time... . but that's no fun, need DTT Money! Will work for food! :)

I didnt bother to reply because I only have like 1k on the truck with the smarty, But so far so good! I pulled my 12 valve about 150 mi to mass on a trailer while on level 1 and got 16. 3 mpg! Timing helps alot. Im now on level 5, but will be returning to level 3 because of high egt with stock turbo.

I've been running a smarty on our 06 for a little while now. I have it on the SW7 tune. It did wonders for the fuel mileage. The truck was getting a miserable 13mpg in town and has gone up to almost 16 MPG. I haven't had a chance to try it on the highway yet
