I've never done it, but I can tell you what is involved...

The whole gear housing has to be replaced, because the P7100 uses a 4-stud pattern on the mounting plate, wheras the VE pump uses a 3-stud. To change out the gear housing, the cam has gotta come out. The pump drive gear will also need to be changed. Then you gotta do new lines, fuel pump, linkage, etc. Spendy, but probably worth it. :) Might be more cost effective to swap in a 94-98 complete engine instead. :D

mummn and if i get a 96-98 12v engine that would be cool mummn and ideas on that one?... heck i can get 8. 3s for $3500 and under. . hehehe i wonder the transmission issues i'd have there. . the 727 might hold up with a full competition rebuild some of the crazy 440 and hemi mopars made sick torque... or allison. . but heck a manual would be nice cus im getting a 4" e bd brake soon. (i was gonna get a newer truck. . ) mummn 8. 3 with 9 or 10 or 13 speed and my 308 gears might work good too... ... didn't the guy with the ford 8. 3 L conversion, he ran a 10speed, any how he looked into modifing a isc engine compression brake. . (jake) to work on a 8. 3 but it would have cost a lot . . heck if it cost 1000 bucks more then the engine brake that would be worth it to have a real jake in the truck hehehe. . man hell i have my 6v53 that ran 12 flat 1/4 mile in my friends race pickup and thats paid for plus i have 2 6v92 silvers one with jake. . mummn i think the stock front axle might need to be changed out to hold that i think the 6v92 weighs 1800-2000 lbs stripped. . put daul rockwell rears in her heheh 6v92 silver with jake stripped down twin turbos, rockwell axles and lift hell 40 " tires. . i think i'd have one hell of a first gen hehehehe how much are rock well axles the magazines always have em in the back from the military depots. . (what about the ram 6x6 guy he is running them... mummmn. . the local junk yard has 3 duece and halfs with the running gear i wonder how much i could get a front and rear axles. . probably $500 bucks fro both hehehe. . get stockton wheel in CA to make custon rims. . reinenforce the frame and divorce the 205 or use the dueces transer case. . hhehehe im too crazy this morning huh?. . ha changeing oil in the tdi at 5 am to drive 6hr to Wash. D. C. to pick up rims and may be stop in NJ on way back for doors hehe too crazy. . im out hey even think up some crazy stuff for me. . i had a line on a $750 p7100 pump from a 94 auto truck. . how much would the rest of the stuff cost to convert it?. . gear houseing drive gear and lines?. .

thanks

So you can get 8. 3's for cheap eh? How about a 96-98 12V? Or better yet, a 99 and up 24V? I am in the market for one, but so farf, everything is 5 grand and up. Keep in touch! :D

man to me cheap is free or under $500 dollars haha. . man but yeah the 8. 3s used i. e good runners, can be had for about $3500 look in the heavy equipment or tractor trailer classified magazines. . like "truck & heavy equipment trader" etc any of the 24 valves i've seen are mainly on ebay ha and end up being about $5000 and i haven't seen any 96-98 cummins to buy either. . i found a 24valve that had a manual early rotary pump from a 91 cummins dodge on it for $6500 obo... i might have info on that some where. . i think it was posted here first though in the conversion forum...

later
