just got the socalled REFLASH: what should i expect

just got a pyrometer-any tips how to install.

I have a 98. 5 24v and have leaking trouble with the oil sealing washer on the drain plug. are they only good for one time use?

i had mine go on me to all i did was get one from the dealer and it fixed the problem but i did change my oil three times before it started to leak some guys on here say to get the drain plug from geno's maybe look into that to ;)

If you have the stock drain plug, it is a "flush" fit type bolt. That being there is no bolt head sticking out. After numerous oil changes ( the count can vary greatly depending if a gorilla tightens it) the bolt itself develops "cracks". from too much use (or torque from the gorilla :-laf ). Using the heavy duty drain plug advertised in Geno's Garage catalog ( cat. #47, pg. 11, pt# HDOP-kit-22MM, $19. 50 :D ) should eliminate this problem. It did on my '97. Hope this helps, John ;)

PS I'm not trying to "plug" Geno's :-laf :-laf , but it's the easiest place to find the part.

I got a new seal and plug from Cummins today. the seal is copper this time instead of plastic. I'm going to try to switch them out real fast to avoid buying another 20 bucks worth of oil since I just changed it. I got the new plug too in case the old one is cracked. If it doesn't work I'll order from Genos. Thanks for the replys people.
