My wife and I with our 5 month old son are driving from Calgary to Phoenix Arizona with overnight/day stops in Butte,Montana Salt Lake city, and Kanabe Utah.

When we arrive in Phoenix I have tickets (including Pit passes) for my wife and I for the Subway Fresh 500 race.

After that my wife is planning on day trips for us including swimming with the cousins etc On the last day of our stay I and the B-inlaw get to install the goodies that I have bought for my truck that I had delivered there.

Bakflip tonneau,Pop and lock Tailgate lock, and Kilbys condensor guard

Just in time for the drive home through Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Overnight stays as mentioned above.

I am getting excited and had to share sorry to go on. .

Life is good... ...

Sounds like a nice trip. Hopefully the price of fuel will settle down some before your on the road. Enjoy your time with your son. You will find that kids grow up in a blink of the eye and those memories will truly be priceless.

In June my wife and I will be heading out to Bozeman MT to visit our son and do some sight seeing. Its been two years since our last trip out west so we are looking forward to seeing the mountains again.

In a couple of weeks, we're hooking up and heading East. A couple days with a daughter in Nevada, then gradually working our way to Conway, Arkansas (near Little Rock) to watch a grandson graduate from University of Arkansas. From there we go to Orlando, Florida for a week or so, then back to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to see another grandson graduate from high school. After that it's back home to California to watch yet another grandson graduate from high school. Our granddaughter will graduate from University of Arkansas next year so we'll make the trip again then. Yeah, we're proud of them.

That's all that's planned so far but we hope to head North to Washington and probably BC for a little while later in the summer. Sounds like quite a bit but we didn't go much last year so we need to make up for that. ;)

Sounds like fun. I am wanting to take in a race as well, just haven't been able to knock if off my list of things to do yet. It sounds like you are retracing a trip I did last year. Enjoy the views.

Also I was looking at your 2 micron fuel filter on your Dodge, did you install an upgraded fuel pump for the filter or is that with the stock pump... .

I live in Medicine Hat.

Yes I drove to Phoenix, well actually through Phoenix and ended up in Tucson. Towed my 11K holiday trailer down there to do some dirt biking etc. Kanab is a very interesting town, lots of movie history there.

My lift pump is stock. Some people have reported a 1/2 psi pressure drop through the 2 micron filter.

There's some neat vistas in southern Utah and the 4-corners area. I just got back from a quick round trip to Gallup NM and went through the 4-corners, Moab and Monument Valley.

I did a nice drive through Alberta in 2002. Drove the full length of it north to south, mostly on route 22 - through Rocky Mtn Home on up to Whitecourt, then to Peace River, High Level and eventually Hay River NWT. Took 28 hours of driving each way from Washington, and I was rolling along at a brisk pace.

When in Butte, don't forget to visit "the local swimming hole"... ... ... I'm kidding. Although it is worth a visit, and it's very hard to miss.

And yes, that really is the color of the water.

Maybe you could catch that new Grand Canyon Skywalk? Sounds cool.

If I was driving with some buddies I Probably would take the new skywalk at the GC I am just not very keen on driving 30+ miiles on a dirt road with my wife and young son wouldn't want to get into truck trouble etc. so far off of the highway for obvious reasons. Now if they pave that road in the next week or so..... :)

Traveling from Phoenix to Green Bay with my wife and 5 year old son. Spent our first night in our 5th wheel somewhere in New Mexico, temp was around 48 degrees. Last night we stayed in our 5th wheel in Oklahoma City, OK at the Flyin' J, temp was 31 degrees, about froze. Tonight, we're staying in Maryville, IL at the Econo Lodge, temp is around 28 degrees. Should be in Green Bay tomorrow.

Trip's been rough. Got stuck in an accident leaving Phoenix for about 3 hours. Flyin' J in Amarillo, TX some how charged us $800 for fuel. Found this out at the next Flyin' J when our cards were declined cause our bank thought someone stole them. Flyin' J says they have no record of this $800 transaction, but we still have to wait 3-4 working days to get our money back. Semi threw up a rock and smashed the windshield on our Bettle. Egt gauge in my '06 quit working this afternoon.

That about sums up our trip so far.

Ouch! Sounds less then perfect but it still sounds better then work. Now that you got the trouble out of the way I hope the rest of the trip is smooth. It seems that the little gremlins that are in our trucks sleep until we are over 200 miles from home. Good luck.

That sucks! I hope the rest of the trip is better, your family will talk about this trip for years I bet!

Drive safe.

Dan

I come from Burns Lake BC and its beautiful up there. Enjoy your trip to BC. :)

We are headed to Alaska in mid July and usually stop in Calgary for fuel and groceries. Always stop at UFA for fuel but recently found out that Flying J has a couple of truck stops in Calgary now. We plan to stay in Alaska until we see the northern lights or the cold and snow drive us south.

Good luck on your trip. If you get thru Estes Park Colorado look us up. It is right next to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Alberta Bound

We'll be doing our usual loop through the rockies and visiting the old stompin' grounds. Maybe take the kids to the Stampede as well. Not a bad way to kill a couple of weeks. :)
