Silly Red Sox fan....

I moved a 10x18 shed across town (got a great deal on a demo shed). What I did was use a bunch of cement blocks and 3 4x4's the width of the shed. When I loaded it they had a fork lift and we set it on top of the flatbed with the 3 4x4 's going across the shed (it was a landscape type trailer with a raised rail). When I got it to the house I stacked the cement blocks underneath the 4x4's on the front and rear of the shed. Then I made a stack of blocks and put a floor jack on them under the middle 4x4. Jacked the shed up enough to put another block at the front and rear 4x4's. Then I did the same on the other side of the shed. This got it off the trailer and I could pull the trailer out from under it. Then to lower it down I'd jack up one side with the floor jack, pull out 1 block and lower it down. Then I'd go to the other side and do the same. I just kept walking it down until I had one row of blocks left and I used those as the foundation.

If I were only moving it 60 feet and the bottom of the shed is appropriate I'd probably just get a number of PVC tubes and put them under the shed and roll it around.

I helped my boss move a rather large shed.

He braced it side- to- side at the floor (collar tie like, but lower. ) He used ratchet ties around it at the base perimeter as well as inside cross diagonally.

He bribed with beer, brats and BBQ, 15 or so friends and co- workers to lift it from the inside at the cross ties then walk it some 250 feet to its new location. We had out side helpers who had several really beefy saw horses to set it down as needed. It worked very well.

Depends on how it's made, but only 60' would probably skid across the yard without a trailer if done right.

If it's not too big, attach 4x4 posts under it and cut the ends to 45 degrees. Then drag it with a tractor or truck. We've moved our shed like this.

I moved my shed across town, it's 8X10 with all pressure treated on the bottom. To get it on the trailer I attached 2x8's to the bottom and slid it up on with a hand winch and one person helping me. After getting it off the trailer and deciding where I wanted it I rolled it on 4 inch pvc pipes by my self just using a 2x4 as a lever. It would've been easier with two people but it rolled pretty good on the pipes.

How heavy is it? I bought a case of beer & invited some friends. They lifted it & I backed an old Datsun p/u under it. Set it right on the bed rails. Drove it about 75'. Cost me another case to get it off, tho.

Like PSU stated. Only change I would do is to drill the ends for a section of

1" pipe. Slide the pipe threw the holes. Throw a chain around the pipe and pull it with a pickup.

I used to work for a place the built small sheds. All of ours were mounted on redwood 4X4's. Both ends of the 4X4's were drilled for a section of pipe to slide threw. We used a 1 ton with a 10' flatbed and winc to deliver with.

If the pipes do not work, you can have it moved like I did. Mine was a 10 x 12 had to move it 45 feet, I called local towing company and had them bring a rollback. took all of twenty minutes and $75 and the shed was moved.

we moves a 10x10 shed last fall with the pvc 2" x 10' pipes and a garden tractor. We jacked it up a little and put a total of 10 of them under it. we then pulled it and as the pipes came out the back, we put them back in front. Our shed weighed several thousand lbs, one of those site built jobs with shingle roofs and all. I really thought, at first, that we'd just be able to drag it in the grass. didn't realize how heavy it was.

The reason we had to move it?... . The house needs a cleanout put in and the shed was right above the plumbing underground. Still haven't put in the cleanout though :)

There's a gas line under mine (And 2 grounghogs!) The Gas Co. said to move it so they can get to diggin', or they would move it for me.

No need to hit me over the head. Rolled right across the lawn just like you guys said. Gonna leave it up next to the house where it is.

Thanks again, everybody.
