Anybody ever used an aviation engine monitor for gauge package?

I'm a big fan of digital gauges, but the only aftermarket automotive ones I can find are the Cyberdynes, which kind of suck (small digits and limited measurement choices). I was wondering if anyone had ever tried installing something like this Dynon Avionics package:

You get to set the green, yellow, and red range bands for up to 7 parameters, and in addition you get CHT & EGT monitoring for all 6 cylinders. With the optional fuel flow sensor, we could finally have an accurate in-cab trip computer. It basically handles everything but the speedometer/odometer functions, and a rail pressure gauge.

6 - EGT (Type K Thermocouple)

6 - CHT (Type J Thermocouple)

2 - Fuel Level (Resistive or Capacitance with 5 volt output)

2 - RPM (Frequency)

2 - Contacts (Canopy, Landing Gear, Fuel Switch, etc. )

1 - Manifold Pressure (Voltage)

1 - Oil Temperature (Resistive)

1 - Oil Pressure (Resistive)

1 - Fuel Pressure (Resistive)

1 - Fuel Flow (Frequency)

1 - Amps

1 - Volts

1 - Turbine Inlet Temperature (Type K Thermocouple)

3 - General Purpose (Either resistive or voltage for OAT, Fuel Tanks 3 & 4, Coolant Temp/Press, Carb Temp)

drury,

I seriously thougt of doing something like that but only a 8 channel egt guage for my exhaust. One for each cylinder and one pre and post turbo. The unit was in Aircraft Spruce Catalog. There is lots more there to scan.

I just installed edm 700 in a cessna P-210n. nice instruments but pricy. Ive done several over the years and a couple of other brands. thought of doing one in my truck, after thinking about it decided it was too much money and I dont need that much information.

I understand about the money, which is why I won't be doing it this year, but it sure would look cool and be unique! It's also about the same price as a complete set of the Autometer Nexus gauges.
