Anybody Going to Indy next weekend?

I am going for the first time. Shoot, this is my first time attending an Indy Car race of any kind. . But I have some friends in Indy who go every year who talked me into going.

Are earplugs a necessary accessory?

I am going to be at the desert next weekend so I am setting it up to record... Gotta love DVR's!! (Digital video recorders)



From what I am told... it is not too much the loudness... which it is... but the high pitch of the engines so at the very least, use those lightweight plugs where you can still hear the person beside you... The venue should sell them in the vendors area.



Be sure to see the Indianapolis Museum. . I hear it is quite the place!



Also see if you can get one of tose pit crew scanners so you can keep up on what the guys are saying.

Race what Race?



We have a DIESEL Truck Pull about 30 miles south of the track on Saturday... .

You DEFINITELY want ear plugs!! I took my son to the last IRL race out here at Nazareth Speedway and I forgot to take some along. On the warm-up laps it wasn't too bad, but when the green dropped... A guy next to us had a pair for my son. I tried to hold out but realized how stupid that was so I bought some from a stand at the track. As with most things at a sporting event or concert they stick it to ya. . So bring 'em along

Wow, what has this world come to. This is the only thread on the Indy 500. It's just not the same since IRL split itself off, I guess. I "watched" it (as much as you can watch something when you're asleep on the couch).

i haven't watched more than 10 irl races. . i tried to keep watching the cart races, but i have stopped watching that now too. . still love watching F1 though. . might go see the toronto cart race if i can score some free or cheap tickets. them turbos on them scream [watched quallifing 2 years ago sitting on the roof of my old job's cubevan parked along a side road. . ]
