I finally have my truck into the frame shop after straightening the cab myself as I rebuild it after my daughter crashed it. Things are looking up and I am looking forward to working on it over the holiday break. So today I continued the search for suspension parts. I need upper and lower control arms for a 1993 2wd with 4000lb axles. None of my local wrecking yards have one or can find one. A couple weeks ago I had talked to the dealer and the upper is available but the lower was backordered and set to be manufactured in early December. Apparently, I am so naive , so today I figure I'll give in and pay what they want only to learn it was just discontinued. After reading other posts appartently they kept it backordered until legally they could discontinue it. Is this really what happens? In any case there is an ad for parting a 92 on TDR and I have a request into him. But I thought I might as well ask the group as well. The dealer tells me that the lower was used from 1991-1993, does anyone know if this is true. I would take both upper and lower or anything else that is fair. Thanks for the help-Todd Miller

only to learn it was just discontinued.

The favorite quote from the dealer on a few items. The ten year limit Dodge doesn't pay to much attention to. I tried to buy a new rear axle assy from them almost 4 years ago. It was out of stock and no planes on another run. I had a bent axle on a U coded 3:08 model 70.

There is a guy up in WI that has some first gen trucks he is parting out. I'll see if I can find that old post.

Try Tim or Paul in Wisconson for parts, its a large salvage yard that has tons of CTD, let them know you are a TDR member 1-800-338-4002

Here is the info I went looking for. Thanks to CrewCabDiesel for this one.

I hope he has what you need.

If those don't work try car-part.com its a website that lets you search the inventory of junkyards all across the U. S. and canada. You might not be able to find the part you want with their search but if you look up engines you can at least find yards that sell CTD parts. Oo.

Johnson's Auto Wrecking in Mandan, North Dakota had a 2wd CTD in their yard. My old truck got a rear axle from it. It was a few years ago, but they don't crush anything, so it'll be there if it didn't sell. Nice guys, too.
