... mine's done pretty good so far. I've plowed alot of snow and have got about 350 miles on it. I'm wondering if I should buy the extended warranty or not. I've heard of a couple of transmission(Honda-matic/ESP) failures and the transmission is $1400  . Anyone have any problems out there? I had an 89,300,4-trax and it was pretty much indestructable but this Rubicon has alot more expensive parts. Trying to figure out if it is worth the money for the ext. warranty???... Doug

i have a 2003 rubicon with 300 miles and no problems so far(knock on wood) and when i bought it i got the extended warranty the 6 months standard just did not seem like enough. my uncle probley has 0ver 500 miles on his and no problems we ride most every sunday 50 to 75 mile a day.

ps: i have a service manual on cd if you need anything just ask

two of my freinds have 'em, each with 5000 plus miles ... yup 5000 ... one had an oil pump go out in the transmission at about 250 miles ... dealer said it would have been 1500 if out of warranty ... scaired the poop outta both of 'em ... both bought the ex warranty and have had no problems at all ... unless rolling one counts ... they have pretty much the same rep around here that the 450s have ... tough as a piece of steel and ride about that rough too ... not nearly as pretty as my arctic cat ... or "THE JEEP" as my honda freinds call it

Thanks guys,I'll probably go ahead and get the ext. warranty. With my luck if I didn't something major would go... Doug

We've got an 03 model on the farm that gets used virtually every day. I haven't checked lately but back in September it had 8600 miles on the ticker. Prolly over 10k by now. No trans problems and it does pull some heavy pipe trailers from time to time. Only thing we've had to replace is the computer once and that was my fault. I didn't even thing to unhook the battery on a quad before welding on it. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Not as bulletproof as the old 300's were but a well made machine none the less.
