It appears that Mor/Rydes are an more aggressive "Velvet Shackle" type rubber hanger for the rear of the spring on the back axle. Anybody using these? George Eusterman

I have mor-ryde on my 5er and really happy with it. But, on my truck I installed the "Timbren Rubber Overload" and am very satisfied, I like it better than the factory overloads that were on my '01. Guess this doesn't really answer your question though.

I have the Mor-Ride system on my truck. It makes my wife happy, so I am very happy with it. It is a big help, both empty and when towing my 5 er. :)

Thank you Bill and Tim. Bill, are your Timbren's an overload or do they serve as a ride softener as is the function of MorRydes? And Tim, is the change dramatic and how much did you pay for them and did you install? George

The Timbren's are an overload, a very easy 1/2 hr install, and, IMHO, much better than factory overloads. They are not a ride softener though.

Bill--so not a ride softener but what makes them better than factory overloads. Better than maybe other overloads as well? In other words, something made you put them on and I wonder what your thinking was on the subject. George

Geusterman, I put the Timbren on for a couple reasons. My truck did not come with factory overloads, and was going to put on airbag over loads. Two companies that sell airbags talked me out of them and said I would be happier with the Timbren. for my application.

My '01 had factory overloads and did not keep truck level when hooked on to 5er (1900# pin weight), Timbren's do keep truck level. Also, when loaded, the overloads would sometimes slap against overload stop and was noisy. Timbren's were less than 200. 00 with shipping and a 1/2 hour install.

I am sure the mor-ryde will do an excellent job, but, a little to pricey for me.

Good reply there Bill. What a neat overload! For a nice ride I am also looking at the Kelderman air ride and Fleetco's comfort ride which takes me over $1000 for the rear. Front and rear systems hit $2500 but just the MorRyde is around $700 I believe. Wish we could get beyond our subjectiveness in our responses and get some serious testing done--perhaps at the gettogethers. George

Tim-I am trying to make up my mind between some type of progressive springs, MorRydes or Kelderman air system. Did you install your MorRydes yourself and how would you explain the difference before and after? George

Yes I did the install myself. It took about 4 hours, the worst part is cutting the rivets off the spring hangers. The ride is soft like a 1/2 ton, but the carrying capacity is not deminished. I have factory overloads, and left them on. :) Would I do it again? Yes.

Bigramguy--I believe this product is really a simple overload. It would actually increase the "roughness" of a ride as they are directly connected to the main spring. A factory or "proper" overload has some inch or two of play before coming into contact with its stop. The product you refer to would do as claimed I believe which would be to "respring" or strengthen the factory spring of an overloaded vehicle or make the ride stiffer so it does not lean so much on corners.

Tim--thanks! Your response about being like a half-ton is what I was looking for. I would like to avoid the air systems of the air rides (Fleetco,Kelderman) and the complications that go with it. I am in Great Falls Mont right now and the local Cummins guys dropped my rear tire pressure to 35 from 55 and the front to 45 which made a great difference. Course airing up for loads becomes a hassle. I am going to order the Morryde. Thanks again. George
