Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has a factory CD player they like to get rid of. Mine has finally stopped working and I don't have the money to replace it with an aftermarket deck (recently layed off). So if anyone is willing to part with theirs for cheap let me know.

Thanks,

Joe

$$$$$$

I have one for sale if offered enough for it. (If you haven't priced one from a dealer I'll give you a hint. its over 500 clams. :--) :--) ) I had to buy one for my '96 when it was broken into in Houston and the original factory CD player was stollen. I have one out of my '01 if you are interested.

Mine's dead, the CD part doesn't work, the radio part does. The clock keeps changing time, too. Dunno if it's worth the hassle to replace it, :D I never listened to it anyway.

Tom. . is yours the large DIN style ? single CD in dash model ?

if so I'll bring ya one at Muncie. . after all your son needs tunes and you can "feel" the vibs. . [and not one you sit on :p ]

yup, willys, that's the one. The large Infinity model, single CD in dash. Muchas Gracias, the kid will love ya for it. :D I get enough music from the engine roar. :D

THe CD drive is repairable!

I drove around for amost a year without a working CD player. Everyting else worked fine. Was real close to buying aftermarket and decided to see it this radio was repairabe.

Went to local radio/TV shop here in Bismarck and found shelves of Factory radios fixed or inline to be fixed.

Cost $95 to repair. There is a small motor (dia of a nickel) that spins the CDs that wears out. Work like new.

The tech that did the work said the Infinity radio is a pretty highend radio.

If it was not for the 1. 5 DIN hassle to have a good looking replacement aftermarket would not be so bad. A pretty simple aftermarket 1. 5 DIN replacemnt was in the $275 - 300 range.

This shop had a brand new factory Infinity w/ CD and Cassette takeout setting of the shelf with a $550 price on it.

I'll be putting one in from Crutchfield with a steering-wheel-remote, as soon as I can figure out which one has the best remote!:D

Mine's for SALE

As you can tell by my tag line I pretty much replaced and upgraded the stock sound system. I have the "big" (din and a half size) cd/tape/radio/eq combo that's sittin' in a box in a closet. I also have all the stock speakers as well. Make an offer... they aren't doin' me any good.

I have a factory CD/Cassette unit I will sell. E-mail me for the price. It is out of my 2002 2500 Ram. I used it for a month then upgraded to an aftermarket system. Nothing wrong with it.

Anyone know if it's just a straight swap to put the CD/Cassette in a truck that came with just a cassette? The service manual says something about a relay for the Infinity and amps in the speakers. Will an Infinity work with the standard speakers? My unit is the RAS. I'd like to put the CD/Cassette in (RAZ?). Anyone know if it'll work? Would I need a relay for the Infinity?

Thanks,

Dave

CD Cassette Combo Deck

I would like to upgrade my stock system to an Alpine. If I could get $200 for my factory system? I would be happy. I have had no luck with it playing CD-R. Other than that It works great.

why not MP3

I replaced my cassette/radio with a Kenwood CD/MP3/AM/FM stereo. With the adapters it was about $300. I can burn about 100 songs on a CD in MP3 format and have a whole day of travelin' music. Got my music off the internet, so all it costs is the writable CDs.

I will have my Inifinity CD/Tape/Equalizer and amp for sale soon, and probably the speakers... . For a stock system it rocks... .

Call me if interested. . Kurt yardley 505-534-0434 or click on my sig for email. . Oo.
