Anybody intersted in trading factory allow for these American Eagles?

They are 16X8 with 4. 25" backspacing. Caps are dented at each lug nut, wheels look good. I'm looking for pre-2003 alloys. The caps are plain, not Eagle caps as shown in the picture.

How old are they, what have they been installed on, do you have any real pics of them.

I have a set of 2001. 5 alloys, nuts, caps to trade. Have been in storage half thier life!!

Where are you located?

700~

I'm in Houston.

The truck is a 2001 3/4T QC 4X4 with 57K miles that I bought this weekend. It has a Skyjacker 4 1/2" lift and some Goodyear MTR's I believe. My buddy thinks it was a package deal from Four Wheel Parts so I will say they are less than 2 years old.

I can post photo's later this afternoon.

243 I hate to break it to ya but if you have drums brakes on the rear then 700rmk's wheels wont' work on your truck. 01. 5 is when dodge put disk's on the back. I fould out the expensive way!:{

The OEM forged aluminum wheels (P/N 52106 367AA WHEEL, Aluminum, WDZ, 16x8, Forged Aluminum) fit model years 2000-2002, regardless of rear brake type. The "fit problem" involves pre-2000 three-quarter ton trucks.

It looks like Thomas adressed the issue already. The drums on pre-00 trucks are larger. Alloys are ok for 00 and later.

I cannot detect any problems while I'm driving, but I don't think I would on a truck this size with mud terrains.

I wanted to trade for factory alloys because they look good IMO. After a few hours of polishing with Mother's mag wheel polish, these don't look bad at all either.

It's a doable thig:

There's a little bit of grinding to two tie rod ends in front and about a 1/16" of metal needs removal from the rear drums to allow the late Dodge alloys to fit on earlier trucks. Simple Dremel work in front, and an easy lathe cut in back. It can be done on a brake drum lathe by mounting the drum backwards on the spindle if you know someone who's handy at work, or a file and elbow grease could do it as a last resort.

Some people get spooked by any metal removal on brake parts or F/E parts but in this case it's minimal and won't affect strength.

I wouldn't let it hold me back if I wanted to mount those wheels on a pre-disc truck.

kshine,

The wheels fit on model year 2000 and newer rear drum brake trucks without any of the work you are suggesting. It is only 1999 and older that involve any material removal.

thomas,

Yah, it was just in case someone showed up thinking of the trade but with older wheels from older truck to offer.

243... ... ... ... ... ... . are you going to continue using larger tires. 35's on the factory offset wheels will rub on the control arms at full lock regardless of lift. Just some info to chew on. :)

The lift will be for sale if my buddy does not want it. He wants to make sure he can still tow a TT on occasion and his toy trailer.

Chipstien~

I plan to buy 285's this week, the 315's have a 1/4" of tread or less.

2001.5???

I thought that they didn't add the disc brakes to the rears until mid-2001 model years. BUT . . . his was made 8/00, and it is a 2001 and has rear discs!

Another CAUTION

Another word of Caution: These Eagle Alloys don't have the same offset/backspacing specs as factory for the 2000+ trucks. They are set out away from the vehicle centerline a lot further than the stock alloys, 1. 75" to be exact! Dodge did a major change in 2000. Unless you run big mudders with a lift kit, that extra 1. 75" positive offset may make your truck look goofy.

Stock specs on the 16x8 alloy:

Backspacing = 6. 0"

Offset = +40mm

NOTE: Offset is the value that should be maintained when changing wheel sizes. Backspacing will vary according to change in wheel width, ie, will become a larger number for wider wheels if Offset value is kept the same

I found out there is very little aftermarket available with such deep backspacing if you want to maintain factory BS/offset specs. Dodge is basically using Front-wheel-drive caliber specs on a back-drive rig.

TXRam: Rear disc trucks began rolling off the assembly line in July 2000.

Vaughn

EDIT: I meant to add, I believe the proper specs on the '99-older trucks is around +10mm offset. Don't know backspacing, due to narrower stock rims
