Old Shotgun Question

Gulf Coast Work

John, If you go to the NW Bombers site and send a PM to member RUSS, Russ does this for a living at Boeing

And he would be happy to help.

Russ is also a TDR member but I don't remeber his handle.

I hope this helps

My father is an industrial electrician and has dealt with this sort of stuff for years. He's built motor drives, repowered numerous old machines and works with pretty large motors on a daily basis. If you send me the details of what the problem is maybe with a phone # I'll forward it to him. He's been off work for a year since he took a digger off a 25' roof at work so I'm sure he'd be more than happy to have something to put his head to work (he's almost ready to go back to the plant).

Taker easy,

Mike

Heres what we have. Its a VBM (Vertical Boring Machine) It turns large round pieces (appox) 102 inches. We bought from Ablany NY and had it shipped down to our shop in NJ. It has 6 motors total, 5 of them are working. The main motor is 40hp and controlled by Saftronics. Our sparky had it running and then it stopped. He checked it out and it had a 100amp fuse blown (it has 3 of them) in the control and it blew another 100 amp fuse in the disconnect. He said the malfunctioning speed control pod on the pendant could of cause a heavy load on the motor. He went thru the hole control and had somebody else come in and comfirm that one of the cuircit boards was not sending back 12V. We sent the board with the 2nd guy to fix it and he brought it back and it had the same problem. We sent to a 2nd curicit board specialist and it came back with the same problem. The 1st guy came back and took the board and spent most of the day with saftronics and the 2nd curcit board tech and still could not come up with anything. This is where we are now. Saftronics says the board is no longer availible and they want 4-6 weeks to try to fix it. Our customer doesnt want to wait. We also have the book with the wiring diagrams I can be reached at 609-558-8520. JB
