i found the bosch part # 2 420 503 019 but i am not seeing anything useful come up on a web search, i called a place in town about that and a overflow valve (mine is missing the ball and spring, i got them from a mercedes core pump to hold me till i can get the real thing or a fp gauge to set up a proper length spring) and got nothing, ill try some more diesel places when they are open monday unless i can get a source here

The spring length is . 500-. 550". Fuel Pressure: 18-24 psi at idle, 28-36 at 2000 rpm with no load.

I would think any Bosch certified shop would have the diaphram for the AFC.

unfortunatly i don't have the stock spring to go by on what it's tension is so a half inch may not be right for the springs i have access to, unless i come across a ctd in a junkyard to score one from i may buy a new valve. whoever was working on this thing was a goober, blown afc, no sealing washers in anything i've taken apart and no guts in the overflow valve, it's a wonder it runs as good as it does but it does explain the 14 mpg on a mostly highway tank coming home

Wish I could remember who sells them this cheap, but someone is selling new OF valves for ~$25-35. Think Piers has them for ~$55.

If you don't get a new valve, I may have an old one around here I could take the spring and check ball out of.

Marty Tompkins @ Precision Diesel has overflow valves for ~$30 + Shipping. They are the Flag brand.

Piers sells Bosch.

Is one better or going to last longer ?????

i got the chance to take it apart after work today and it turns out the leak was a few missing screws the diaphragm was fine, it's running pretty good (as far as i know as this is my first ctd) but i think it's still running lean, with the wheel backed all the way off and housing forward i still get no smoke in the headlights behind me. i guess i need to get some gauges sooner then later, ah well it's only money
