See over at PDR. They have a 16cm ported turbo housings. Just wonder if anyone here runs that particular housing? I do mostly hiway driving. So I'm not ot worried about quick launches or racing.

I have 370 injectors. How bad would the lag be?

Is there also much of an egt drop?

Was wondering if they make a 4 inch down pipe also? Gonna do 4 inch exhaust too while I'm at it.

1995 ctd 175 hp motor.

Yeah I have one. Loosened up the downpipe where it connected to the rest of the exhaust and slid it forward an inch or so. The rest of the install was a piece of cake. It will build 47 lbs of boost but egt's climb up to 1500 @ wot fifth gear. Overall I dropped around 180/200 degrees around town. Cools off real quick at idle. That's better than my stock 14cm housing. I am running a home groundplate and 330 HP injectors plus a few other things. I didn't notice much difference in spool time. They are "ported" on the inlet side. It looks like a gasket match job. Nice piece for the money--however I now have an ATS manifold and modded HX40 on order--it never stops.

I just put that housing on that PDR has on sale and it has made towing much worse than with the stock 12 cm housing as far as EGT's go. Daily driving it's slightly more laggy which means more smoke.

Were you making that with a stock turbo and exhaust housing?

Being a 98 you have a HX-35, Correct? So how much boost are you pushing out of that thing? Just want to know what the limits are, I have an itch for more power, and was thinking that I might need a bigger turbo than my WH-1C. But maybe not!

the 16 is a good improvement to get a little more air in it really did not lower my egts it just took a couple of seconds longer to raise them into the red zone as mentioned before you will notice a little more lag thus more smoke but it will pull just a bit harder on the top end

i just installed my htb2 from htturbo and love it i was running about 42-45 boost through my stock turbo and pegging the pyro past 1600 now i have to work it hard to even get 1450 on the pyro all figures are pre-turbo and my boost is guated @40psi it was great working with the guys from hightech turbo and thats what counts most imo good luck finding the setup you need cahammer

Cahammer is right i am going this route with th htb2 also . i'm running my whc1 38to40 pounds boost now and top egt's are around 1200 to 1300 the 16cm housing help it breath and cool up stairs especialy with gsk's . the htt stage 3 compressor helped lag and all but it dosn't cut it . its the 4" at the outlet that what gets a gate to flow . a pdr with a 14 gated would be best if power levels are 350 or less . i think i'm past that stage now . so i ordered an htb2 with a 12 gate and their will still be room to grow. mike
