Anybody running a HTB2 Hi Perf.Turbo

Anybody running a HTB2 High Performance Turbo from High Tech Turbo? Looks like a good bang for the buck. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Glen

Yes, I am, I believe I was the first truck in running this turbo for them. It is very responsive, no lag, lowers EGT's.



I have a set of custom EDM's from Massdiesel, should be running twins with them but the HTB2 works great.



I did use the turbo w/ stock injectors, a little lag, but add in an EZ and lag is gone.

Glenn, I emailed HTT last week about this turbo. They said thier hybrid (stage 2 58mm wheel) would work for my application. I wanted something to clean up the smoke from the #4 tst plate and still spool quickly. It looks like we have simular set ups. You are right about good bang for your buck.

Cool, a fellow member from my area. My truck is purple, Raven cap, lifted, 7" inch exhaust tip, and says "Got Diesel?" on the back window. Did you end up ordering one? How do like your 4K governor spring kit? I definitely need them. With my 4. 56 gears I hit a wall at 87 mph. Maybe, I'll see you around. -Glen

I have put this turbo thru 5 to 6000 miles of pure torture. ToolMan and TnL Racing can back me up on this one!



I have had some fueling issues lately so I haven't been able to really hammer on the truck. I hope to get it fixed by mid September for Englishtown!!

Glenn, My trucks like 6shotz's old one without the cap and x-cab. BTW I live right down the road from him. As for the 4k gsk, I wont pull it past 3,200 rpm untill i do exhaust springs. Plus if I get that high egt's go thru the roof and I can make a 2 lane road disappear. Hope to see you around.

when i called htt on this turbo they told me that it is comparable to the hx40. they told me that it is stronger and spools faster then the hx40.

Torque-This, Are your injectors larger than the 130hp EDM Mach 3's? They recommended the HTB2 with a 62mm for my truck. He didn't think I would need the 64mm if I tow with the drag comp box off. I haven't even spiked the wire as my 99 has 150,000 miles on the stock VP44. I'll go with the 2. 4's if the 3s won't run cool enough to tow with when the box is off but they claim that it will be no problem at my altitude.

yes it will work on the 3rd gen trucks. they say the non wastegated models bolt up fairly easy, but wastgated models might need to be slightly modified

Got mine on tonight and it spools better than a stock 35/12. I didn't get too crazy with it but on level 2 on the Drag Comp 40lbs was not a problem to hit. I need to work out a down pipe, but my flex pipe will have to do till I can find an HX40 pipe. I'll post a link to some picks I took but as of now I can't give anymore details cause I haven't ringed it out good yet. It does look like the EGT's are down about 200* though.



Oh yeah it a screamer too! Thought mine was coming through the glovebox.

Good god Darrell, what did you do to your stock turbo. It looks like it turned green and got sick.

I'm running 150hp injectors right now but might go bigger now that I've got more air.



That turbo looked like that about a year after I bought the truck in 99, something about the clearcoat that Holset uses turning yellow. I tried to get the dealer to relace it cause it looked like he11 but no doing unless something was wrong with it. The new one it's much prettier though, and louder!
