I recently picked up a scangauge II for my 2nd gen. Really the only reason I got it was to have a way of keeping tabs on my mpgs, hoping I may be able to improve my mileage a little if I have something telling me to get my foot out of the skinny pedal. It keeps track of instant as well as avg. This is probably something of little use for you from what Ive seen of the 4th gens they have the built in fuel ticker. Im hoping my unit keeps improving so far it has not been very accurate but its a bit of a work in progress you have to "program" it a few times by plugging in the number of gallons you put in your tank every fill up. I will say it is getting closer with each fill up, Ive been told it may take several fill ups to be completely accurate. Other than that it does read all the engine parameters as well as any engine codes but Ive got several gauges for that as well as a smarty so I really dont have much use for it other than the mpgs.

I use for exact voltage, and coolant temp... wish it had transmission temp, but i have a gauge for all that, but obd is exact, unlike gauges..... also have intake air temp on my display also... you can run up to 4 different displays on the gauge at once. . and change them up also...

I originally had a Scanguage II and was generally happy with it.

Unfortunately the display started acting up and lost some of it's color within the first year so I sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. The turnaround was quick.

After the warranty expired it started malfunctioning and wouldn't display any data from the OBDII stream, so rather than send it in for repairs again I gave up and began looking for an alternative to replace it. That's when I stumbled across the Ultragauge. It's less expensive, less bulky (thinner), and can display more information on the screen at one time. Overall I like it MUCH better than the Scangauge.

One downside of the Ultragauge is the display is only one color (a bluish white), but it still looks fine and seems to compliment the cab of my truck nicely.

From their website:

30 Day Unconditional Money Back Guarantee!

Still a good warranty, but I've already moved on to the Ultragauge.
