Anybody tow with their 3G yet? I ordered my gooseneck hitch last night from www.turnoverball.com I can hardley wait for the chance to hook up the trailer and get some hay behind it. First I will have to pry the keys from the wifes cold dead fingers. (the way she put it:D ) Just wondering how they did?

gauges

Keith,

How hot are they running in comparison to 2G trucks?

Do you have any pictures of A-pillar mounts and white face

gauges for 3G's?

Any updated info out there on hitch mounting for 5er's?

To drill or not to drill?

My rig is supposed to ship today!Oo.

Chryslers was quite clear when I forced the issue. You are not to drill the frame. Giving the hitch makers fits.

I pulled my 35' travel trailer about 600 miles. I was VERY impressed with how well it towed. ( I was expecting disappointment based on how my 99' pulled before I bombed it)

EOwen, EGT wise they are hot, like the older ETH truck. Small turbo, restrictive air box, etc.

More power potential than the 2G truck. We're going to put some real power in our truck next week. 560hp to the wheels is all we've done so far.

No pics yet... the pods aren't here yet. Should be the end of next week. White faced gauge pics are on our website.

We put the hitch in Lawrence's truck by drilling. Larger hole through one side, then used a "sleeve". The bolt goes through the sleeve, then through the hole on the inside, but the sleeve does not go through the inside. The "L" bracket acts as the washer to keep the sleeve from coming back out.

So you loose the handle thats on the A pillar?

Would you go to grab the "OH SHOOT!!" bar or the wheel? :D

Looks good Keith, great to see ya are on top of the new truck/engine.

Andrew

p. s. i know i am going to get replys saying, "well it helps to grab it to get in", and i know, but that is what I thought when i frist read this post

Unfortunately yes, you lose the grab handle; however, if you don't remove it, you only have room for a single 2" gauge.

I think the "Oh Shoot" handle is in a bad spot anyway. I was looking at it today, What a waste. Need pillar mount guages. I have been warned by my wife," dont you go messin' up my truck too. I swear I'll leave this time. " I sure am gonna miss that new truck... ... ... ... :D

KLockliear -

Since there is only two interior colors anyway, can't these (gauge pods) be molded with the same color / type plastic as the original?

Are they textured?

Painting them always looks, well, tacky.

And your gauges, do the faces black out and only the letters and scale glow when lit like the dash does?

Just askin, been waitin... ...

Dieselman - If they did offer it in a *supposedly* matching color, I wouldn't buy them. I've seen only one matching pod in all the ones that have tried to do it. There are differences in the hue/color from truck to truck, so you can't have a generic one color fits all pod.

They are textured, just like the current stuff.

No, it's a white faced gauge with black lettering and a red needle. When the light is on, it is backlight, but still white faced. The only thing Autometer makes that MIGHT come close is a Lunar, but they are more money and likely won't match 100% either.

I have Autometer Phantoms, is this yours without the Logo?
