I'm just wondering if I can fix a faulty TPS/APPS by replacing the sensor only for a '99 manual.
I've been reading a lot of posts on the TDR about fixing faulty APPS/TPS units. I've read some guys have changed only the sensor ($30-$50) while others say it is impossible and that the only way to fix it is by replacing the entire unit ($300-$450). I have a '99 manual and I was told by a local parts store that they carry the sensor and it was all that really needed to be changed. I don't want to go around messing with the electric circuits of the unit if the fix doesn't work. I'm sure a lot of guys out there have tried to save some money by changing just the sensor, I would appreciate your advice!
