For me I would not even consider that location as it is not a good place to scan the gages w/o taking eyes off the road.

I also did not like the pillar location on my son's 94. It just seemed so out of focus.

On top of the column or in the dash cluster someplace is my preference for being able to quickly scan and monitor. I think the on top of the dash pod would also be perfect.

Just my opinion. YMMV

I realize that you have posted in the first gen forum, but check out htis installation that Matt400 did ON HIS 2005--

As opposed to the previous poster, I LIKE the above mirror location for gauges that heed to be checked occasionally, like oil pressure and/or oil temp, battery voltage and/or amperage, transmission temp, diff temps, fuel pressure, or whatever else might be glanced at occasionally. I DO have my EGT/Boost on the A-pillar, because it IS closer/easier to read and safer to glance there and keep eyes on the road. HOWEVER, all of the other info, only needs occasional glances, mostly (though not always) on start-up or shut-down, and over the mirror is fine by me and does not clutter up the dash and distract from me from my down the road view. JMHO.

Jay - I agree not ideal, but I have run out of options (already have 3 on a pillar and 3 on dash) and as Mr. Fish :D said, these will be for not aften used gauges.

Mr. Fish - Thanks! That is a great link! Showed some great pics of the install and the pod. Might have to try to make one work! :D

I have 3 on the dash, 3 in the windshield pod. To me there is little difference in looking at either. Peripheral visions still allows a view of the road on both.

The widshield pod won't work on a 1st gen with adding a custom console to anchor it to. The 1st gen windshields are too straight and it points the gauges at the roof.
