Hey all! I recently purchased my 5th CTD, and this is a beauty. It's a 93 W250 with limited options (air, auto, and a slider). My first CTD was a 93 dually extended cab, and getting back behind the wheel of this one is like a trip down memory lane. I never remember them riding this rough though. Yikes!

Anyway, I am in the process of upgrading the interior to make things a bit more comfortable as this is a daily driver. I'd like to replace the steering wheel, but I cannot seem to find anyone that makes a model to fit. Has anyone ever replaced their factory wheel? This is a truck without cruise so any aftermarket wheel/style should work. Thoughts, ideas, and solutions are all appreciated!

Jaws,

I had an 89 model that I replaced the wheel with a Grant. I had to have an adapter, but I made one on my lathe. Summit Racing has the adapter for around $20 that will allow you to use an Grant steering wheel on your Dodge. Check it out:

You might can find something else if you look a little more. You might also be patient and see who else posts something.

One reason it rides so much rougher is the shorter wheelbase. You're extended cab was 20 inches longer, giving you a little more distance away from the rear axle, which rides the roughest empty. Your truck also looks like it has either some aftermarket springs or added leaves. It looks really nice! I had one just like it, color and all, as a ranch truck in '91. It had "The Beast from Dodge" logo on the front fender, and it was exactly that!! I loved that old truck, and when I sold it, it didn't have a staight piece of metal on it from feeding cows, but it still fired up every time. I had 240,000 or so on it in 96 when I sold it, and the guy I sold it to ended up driving it over 500,000. I had to rebuild my GutRot transmission once, though!! Ohh, I had fun in that thing!! And got a lot of work done!! Loved it!!

Thanks for the tip. I think if you go to Grant's website they do not list a kit for this vehicle, but maybe that kit from Summit will work. I will have to try it and see. Thanks for your help!
