My '95 Ram is really starting to rust out about the rear wheel wells. I have FAITHFULLY done the yearly inspections on time (have done them on the same day every year since truck was new) Both body shops tell me to get 2 new 1/4 panels as both of mine are shot underneath (cheaper for all parties involved to just get 2 new quarters and get on with it) Ziebart is saying that this is "catastrophic damage" and they will not cover it. (says I have to have noticed this rust starting 30 days before I took it in)

The are willing to cut me a check for approx. 1/2 of the estimates and they want to have my warranty back so any other rust problems are mine... this is BS. I want to take this farther, but what a hassle. Can anyone be of service here? Thanks, Jeff

I believe you'd do well to pay a lawyer to look at the contract & tell you what he thinks you should do- it won't cost that much and would probably be well worth the money. Check with your State Bar for a referral, if they offer that service.

As to your truck, I'd just replace the bed if it were mine. If you can find a "take-off", it would probably cost the same or less than 2 quarter panels plus installation labor & repaint, especially if you get lucky & find one that's already the correct color. Check with area body maunfacturers or truck outfitters, or possibly the local dealer(s).
